 Background and location
The Youth Centre Villa Elba, founded in 1991, is located four kilometres from Kokkola city centre at Vanhansatamanlahti by the sea.
Services
The Youth Centre Villa Elba is primarily intended for children, youngsters and families. The centre offers an abundance of activities close to nature. Villa Elba provides its customers with diversified services: environmental education, camp schools, internationality services, programme services, accommodation and meals. Villa Elba has accommodation facilities for 77 persons.
 Nature School is of service to guests of all ages: its programmes are connected with nature and environment and it also offers adventure and experience programmes. For groups of kids we offer tutoring activities, organize entire days with the Nature School and arrange camp schools and camps. For grown-ups we offer various programme services, courses and training. And for independent visitors and groups, we have different kinds of equipment for rent which are suitable for hiking or exploring the nature.
The international activities at Villa Elba include international camps and projects, training, practical training and volunteer work for young people. We also provide guidance for those interested in international programmes and for those organising such events. Moreover, we coordinate the projects based on volunteer work which are part of the EU’s Youth in Action Programme for the receiving parties. We function as the Finnish coordinator for The European Youth Exchange Network PLATFORM in Western Finland.
Villa Elba offers meeting and banqueting services for events of various sizes. Our á la carte restaurant is of service to groups with up to 170 members by offering catering services according to the customers’ needs. Futhermore, we offer accommodation services and programmes directed at well-being at work.
Strengths and expertise
 The strong points of the Youth Centre Villa Elba include the Nature School and international activities. We serve our customers in Finnish, Swedish and in English. We function as a development centre to strengthen youth centre participation and as a local developer and service producer. Moreover, we offer our expertise to youth work training and projects.
Villa Elba takes into consideration environmental issues in its properties and in its everyday activities. We are also involved in the environment programme Vihreä Lippu. A safety auditing has been carried out in Villa Elba.
Future
In the future, Villa Elba will invest in the quality of its services and in the further development of environmental issues. Through various projects we will continue the development of local youth work, environmental education, international activities, cultural youth work and preventive anti-drug activities.
